Radiofrequency ablation
Treatment of Varicose Veins and Hemorrhoids
Perforating Veins, Collateral Veins, Reticular Veins, Spider Veins, Petechia,
Rosacea, Saphena Magna, Hemorrhoids.
The EVRF® is an
all-in-one device for the treatment of all sorts of varicose veins – from small
veins such as spider veins to the GSV. F Care Systems has recently developed a
probe for an EVRF treatment of hemorrhoids which makes possible the treatment of
varicose veins and hemorrhoids with one single device.
For the treatment the appropriate catheter or needle is connected to the
generator. Which catheter needs to be used depends on the size of the vein that
has to be treated.

EVRF generator
The catheter of the needle is
connected to the central unit which generates a high frequency signal that is
transmitted to the intima of the vein wall.
Precise control of the EVRF® generator
The RF energy
is closely monitored with the central unit. The duration of the pulse can be
set from 0.1 to 1 seconds in steps of 0.1 second. The pulse power can be
selected in 5 % steps, with the cap sense touch screen (no touch pen
needed). The combination of both settings will allow for very precise control
over the amount of energy administered, resulting in effective
thermocoagulation and removal of the vein.
Needles and catheters
Transcutaneous
treatment (veins up to 1mm)
Small veins on the face or on the legs are treated with a needle holder in
combination with the special designed thermocoagulation needles:
§ K3i needle with
diameter 0.075mm (mostly used for facial treatment)
§ K6i needle with
diameter 0.150mm (mostly used for treatment of legs)
With the
extremely sharp needle tip, the treatment is almost painless and causes only
very light stains that completely disappear within a few days. With the EVRF®,
very little to no bruising or swelling have been reported.
CR12i and CR30i
(veins of 1 to 5mm)
Large varicose veins from 1 to 5mm are treated with a specially designed hand
catheter. The catheter is manipulated with a sterilized handset. Scrolling the
handset’s wheel will move the catheter into or out of the vein. These handsets
are easy to hold and control, very flexible and the perfect insulation makes it
possible to slide the catheter into a varicose vein and coagulate the vein from
inside. The catheter will be inserted into the vein and retracted step by step
until the vein is completely closed. This thermocoagulation effect is similar
to the treatment of the large saphena vein.
CR45i (GSV)
For the treatment of the Great Saphenous Vein, the CR45i catheter is used. Its
5mm non-isolated tip and its flexibility allow for a smooth insertion. The
catheter will be pulled back gradually until the entire vein is closed. This
procedure will take about 5 minutes. Saphena Magna ablation with EVRF®is minimally invasive,
preventing unpleasant and possibly unsafe side effects such as pigmentation
defects, superficial thrombophlebitis or deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Patients
experience minimal discomfort and normal daily activities can be resumed within
one day.
HPR45i
(Hemorrhoids)
Hemorrhoids can now be treated with the new HPR45i probes. This new and improved
method is easy to use and very effective on hemorrhoids degree 1 – 4.
Treatments can be done in several sessions of 15-20 mins. under local
anaesthesia.
Patients hardly experience any pain after the treatment, so minimal
postoperative care is required and a swift return to normal daily activities is
possible.
